Just a few tips on the web mastering of this site...

It was originally created using MSword on Windows95. All wallpaper, most of the FONTing and references to Microsoft were then removed using Notepad and the site launched using DOS FTP with 8.3 file names. After several months the text was put through Netscape composer, using WordPad for the trivial edits, and the site was relaunched as a frame with a proper name via http://www.justthename.com using cuteftp and long file names. Self Promotion was then used to advertise the site.

If you have a website, you absolutely have to check out this amazing, wonderful, incredible resource. You can use it for free to register your site with all the important search engines and indexes, and THEN decide if and how much you want to pay to support the service. It's great -- so great that even a notorious cheapskate like me gave them some money!

...actually, having learnt how to do it I now send to the search engines directly. They seem to want to make sure I actually exist, so here it is! I am the webmaster, Tony Copp, Chairman GGHHA 2000, Stiffords Bridge House, Cradley, Malvern, WR13 5NN, UK

The news now (effective November 2001) is that NTL are ditching Cable and Wireless indirect customers, and this includes this site and my cwcom account. If you wish to re-find me try my village web site. This site may not be the right place to be! Poor NTL, as is common with a lot of ISPs they have bad cash problems.
